Taking good photos of your clothes for your virtual wardrobe
Background, light, framing, cutout. What helps the AI recognize your pieces and gives you a clean closet.
The quality of your photos determines the quality of your virtual closet. A few minutes of attention at the start save you a lot later.
The background
A plain, light background (white wall, sheet, light floor). Automatic background removal works much better and the AI does not confuse the rug pattern with the garment's.
The light
Daylight, no flash. Stand near a window. Avoid strong cast shadows.
The framing
The garment flat and well spread out, or on a hanger. The whole piece in the frame, with a bit of margin. One piece per photo.
The cutout
Wardrobio offers to remove the background automatically on import. The result is used in the outfit builder and in the 3D room. On a plain background it is nearly perfect. On a busy background, turn the option off and keep the original photo.
The AI analysis
After import, the AI fills the sheet: category, colors, material, season, style. Check and correct if needed. The more accurate the sheet, the more relevant the outfit scores and the gap analysis.
