Matching the colors of your clothes without getting it wrong
The three harmony rules Wardrobio uses to compute the synergy between two pieces, explained simply.
Wardrobio computes a synergy score between two garments. Color accounts for 40% of that score. Here are the rules that are applied.
Rule 1: neutrals go with everything
Black, white, gray, beige, navy, camel, khaki. A neutral piece pairs with any other color. That is why we recommend building your base on neutrals.
Rule 2: neighboring colors get along
On the color wheel, two nearby colors (blue and green, orange and red) form what is called an analogous harmony. It is soft and easy to wear.
Rule 3: opposites answer each other
Blue and orange, green and red, purple and yellow. These are complementary colors. The pairing is vivid and works best when one of the two is present in a small amount (an accessory, a shoe).
What to avoid
Two identical saturated colors on top and bottom create a uniform effect. Two different patterns on two adjacent pieces fight for attention. A solid garment between two patterns solves the problem.
How Wardrobio applies it
When you combine two pieces, the displayed score combines these rules with the reviews of other users who rated the same pair. The more reviews there are, the more the community score weighs.
